Garbage/Refuse Information
The City of Blair has a contract with Tri City Sanitation for our refuse collection. Garbage bins are used and come in 2 different sizes. Cost of the bin will be added to your quarterly Water/Sewer bill.
Brush/Compost Site
The City of Blair has a free brush and compost site available for our residents. It is located on South River Road, approximately 2 miles on the left hand side by the whey ponds.
Brush only; no trees
Do not leave plastic bags or boxes behind.

- Curbside pick up is every Tuesday by 8 a.m.
- Please sign up for garbage bin at the City Hall
- 35 gallon (small) bins are $24.00 quarterly
- 64 gallon (large) bins are $39.00 quarterly

Recycling Information
The City has a recycling ordinance mandated by the State of Wisconsin. Chapter 62-Recycling can be found under the City Government header, under Ordinances. There are fines for disposing your recyclables in the bins that Tri-City Sanitation provides for garbage. Please take time to read Ordinance 62 on Recycling so that you are aware of the rules and fines. The current recycling collection rate for the City of Blair in 82.4 lbs/person/year!
Curbside recycling pickup is the second and fourth Thursday of the month. Must be at curb by 8:00 am
-ITEMS NOT MEETING REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
-YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN CONTAINERS.
-ALL ITEMS MUST BE PACKAGED, BAGGED OR TIED.
-ALL ITEMS MUST BE COMPLETELY CLEAN AND SEPARATED.
ALUMINUM:
Drain, rinse, crush and bag.
GLASS:
Throw caps and lids in trash, wash with soap and water. Container must support weight of glass when carried.
*Not Acceptable: Ceramic, clay, crystal, drinking glasses, light bulbs, mirrors,
window glass, plates, oven wares, broken glass of any kind.
NEWSPAPER:
Bundle and tie with strong string or place in brown paper bag.
Do NOT mix newspaper with cardboard or office paper.
Magazines and glossy ads paper accepted with newspaper.
OFFICE PAPER:
Place in brown paper bag or box.
BOOKS/MAGAZINES:
No inappropriate materials.
PLASTICS:
Rinse clean and throw caps, lids, and pumps in trash.
*Acceptable: #1 thru #2 drink, food, soap containers
*Not Acceptable: Plastic bags, clear film, foam of any type, medical supplies,
flower containers, tubs, toys, caps or lids, clam containers that food comes in
MIXED METALS:
Wash and place in tote, paper bag or box.
CARDBOARD:
Flatten cardboard and place in sack or tie into a bundle. Cardboard over 3' x 4' will not be accepted; cut into easy-to-handle size pieces.
NON-ACCEPTABLE ITEMS:
Items that are not separated
Unclean items
Styrofoam of any type
Clear plastic wrap and packaging
Wrapping paper
Tissue paper and Kleenex
Motor oil containers of any type
Plastic shopping bags and Ziplock's
TV dinner trays
Take out food containers
Deli containers
Clear plastic hinged containers (ex: strawberry and grape containers, deli containers)
Clam shell containers of any type
Plastic #3 through #7
Cardboard that is not broken down and cut into a size easy to handle
Plastic caps and lids
Bio-hazardous materials (needles, gloves, masks, gowns)
Flower containers
Toys
Items with animal waste and odors
Package envelopes containing bubble wrap or insulation
